Krista Fenix
Manager
Krista is a Chartered Accountant and Family Business Advisor who is passionate about partnering with clients and their businesses to support them with their accounting and advisory needs. She enjoys getting to know her clients’ stories – understanding their unique dynamics and goals – so she can deliver tailored advice to address both their financial and strategic needs. With a focus on long-term success, she helps clients navigate key business challenges, including growth and succession planning, ensuring they have the right strategies in place for the future.
Many of the small to medium sized businesses that Krista works with lack the internal support teams that larger businesses rely on. This makes her role as a trusted advisor even more critical. She has a strong focus on family-owned businesses, particularly those navigating multigenerational involvement and succession planning. With both personal experience and an academic background in family business, she provides practical solutions tailored to their needs.
Her expertise includes:
- Improving cash flow & business restructuring
- Pricing strategies & market positioning for growth
- Educating business owners to help them understand their financials and make informed decisions.
Working across a range of industries, Krista has a particular interest in retail, hospitality, agribusiness and service providers. Her passion for food and hospitality allows her to relate to business owners who excel in their craft but may struggle with financial management. She adds significant value by helping them gain clarity and confidence in their numbers.
Recent client projects include:
- Working with owners of new businesses to identify the most effective structure based on their needs. This includes understanding the client’s risk profile, industry compliance requirements and future growth plans to ensure the chosen structure supports their long-term objectives.
- Restructuring established businesses across various industries, including retail, medical and professional services. This involved facilitating the restructure, assessing viability, reviewing eligibility for the small business restructure rollover and capital gains tax concessions, and liaising with banks, solicitors and external parties.
- Assisting a hospitality business owner with pricing strategies to improve profit margins, considering both current and target markets.
- Supporting the transition of a family business to the next generation, including advising on the development of a family charter and collaborating with external advisors as needed.
- Succession planning for agribusiness clients, including assessing existing family structures, advising on options (including tax implications), and facilitating collaboration with other advisors.
- Advising clients on the purchase and sale of retail pharmacy businesses, including assistance with the due diligence process.
